There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. To most game developers, the narrative bits are really just a way of driving players to the next dungeon or boss battle. Most developers wouldn’t have the slightest clue how to do a RPG without relying on combat situations and virtual dice. Indeed, the mechanics – called the Storytelling System, was so focused on the non-combat side of RPG play that there’s a formalised Live Action version for people that would prefer dress-ups and theatrics to dice rolls. There were mechanics to handle physical altercations within the game’s systems, but the White Wolf writers and creators were always very clear that Vampire was meant to be about telling stories and character interaction, rather than rolling dice endlessly to kill things dead. Vampire: The Masquerade has never been a pen-and-paper RPG that was overly interested in combat.

The execution of Swansong isn’t perfect, but the effort to recreate the pen-and-paper experience is spot-on, and so, the team at Big Bad Wolf have achieved something that’s increasingly rare in video games: they’ve taken source material and adapted it with respect to the source. But depending on how the sub grows it might be a while before additional mods are needed.

Once Swansong releases, if the sub grows significantly (optimistically the game will be good), I'll look at accepting some moderators to manage things. Those subs just aren't the right place for a post like 'So, do you think Halsey is real or she's just an alternate personality for Leysha? The anagram has to mean something.'

Similarly, /r/vtm is about people who wanna talk about the tabletop game. VTMB fans are still waiting for VTMB2 to re-emerge from hibernation, and that tends to cloud Swansong discussion. The basic reason for making this subreddit is that while there is obviously some fanbase overlap between VTMB and VTM: Swansong (myself included) they're stylistically and mechanically very different, and are only related through being based on the same source material. I checked with the mods here, and they're cool with me promoting it. I recently decided to make a subreddit for Big Bad Wolf's upcoming narrative RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong.
